Description

Glendyne Wergland's talk, "Chastity and the Shaker Cap," will examine the tradition of covering women's heads (and what it reveals about men), the customs surrounding Shaker sisters' cap-wearing, and the history of the Shaker cap. The illustrated presentation will be followed by an opportunity to examine original Shaker headgear from the Hancock Shaker Village collection.
