What Do Kelley Vickery, Laurie Norton Moffat, Ellen Spear and Sara Katzoff Have in Common?
They’ve Got Moxie!
Great Barrington, Massachusetts: The Berkshire Festival of Women in the Arts was founded to celebrate the power of Berkshire women in the arts. One of the festival’s signature events, the She’s Got Moxie! Awards, will also recognize the individual contributions of four recipients who have launched significant new enterprises in the Berkshires within the past five years. Each venture has shown remarkable success in a very short time and has garnered national mention.
The recipients of the First Annual Berkshire Festival of Women in the Arts She’s Got Moxie! Awards are:
Kelley Vickery, founder, Berkshire International Film Festival
Laurie Norton Moffatt & Ellen Spear, co-founders, Berkshire Creative Economy Council
Sara Katzoff, co-founder, Berkshire Fringe Festival
“These women are being recognized for their moxie,” says Eugenie Sills, founder and publisher of The Women’s Times. “Their achievements are significant: Berkshire Creative has changed the region’s conversation about art, culture, creativity and business, BIFF has put a new feather in the Berkshire’s cap with its high profile off-season festival, and the Fringe further diversifies the region’s offerings and its appeal to new and younger audiences. The courage, vigor and savvy of the women behind these ventures is inspiring—and their contributions to our creative economy a great gift.”
The gala and presentation of awards will be held at 6 PM on Friday, March 13 at Founders’ Theater at Shakespeare & Company on Kemble Street in Lenox, Massachusetts. Details and festival information can be found at http://www.thewomenstimes.com.
